Pelvic floor PT works the same way the rest of our practice does. One-on-one with Melissa. She takes a full history (pregnancies, deliveries, surgeries, symptoms, training history, what you have already tried), performs a thorough movement screen and breathing assessment, and progresses to a more in-depth pelvic exam as appropriate and with your full consent.

From there, treatment combines continued hands-on work, breathing and core coordination, and strength and mobility, building a program that fits into your everyday life.

The first pelvic floor evaluation runs about 90 minutes. Follow-up visits are a full hour.

Pregnancy and postpartum.

Care that complements the trimester you are in and addresses your ongoing goals for pregnancy and beyond. During your pregnancy, you do not have to be in pain to schedule an appointment. Birth prep is another pathway for pelvic floor PT, supporting your body through pregnancy, allowing you to feel prepared and confident for birth.

Experiencing pain? Even if it fluctuates from one day to the next, we’re here to help. This support extends all the way through to your postpartum journey. Whether it’s a few weeks or a few years, it’s never too late (or too early) to get the support you need.

Pelvic pain and dysfunction.

The cases that often get bounced around between providers because the symptoms do not fit one specialty cleanly. Bladder urgency. Pelvic pain with exercise. Painful sex. Tailbone pain that has not resolved with sitting cushions and time.

  • Constipation and bowel dysfunction
  • Painful intercourse
  • Coccydynia (tailbone pain)

What about non-pelvic injuries?

Melissa treats every orthopedic diagnosis the other clinics do. Shoulders, knees, backs, post-op cases. Pelvic floor is her primary clinical specialty. If you want her as your therapist for a non-pelvic case, book the same way you would for anything else.
